Q: I see that the HDF400 has a smaller footprint than the FDN400. Other than size what's the difference? I need a 400,000 BTU heater one way or another. Space is an important consideration for me. Also, how much space must there be between the heater and the wall (back of the chimney) to work properly? Thanks in advance!

Q: We had pinch a penny install our hdf400 heater back in June of 2024 and now it puffs hot air for about 15 seconds as it trys to ignite and then shuts off to repeat the cycle again without staying on. You can feel puffs of hot air come out but it won't ignite. We had our tank refilled thinking it was from lack of fuel and it is still failing to fire up. What should I try next that will be covered by warranty?

Q: Hello, I'm a Certified General Contractor in Tallahassee, Florida building a new construction RV/Garage/pool house along side a separate pool builder. The pool builder installed an HDF400 heater on a concrete pad with the exhaust facing the side garage wall and a vinyl window at a distance of approximately 14" from exhaust to vinyl window frame. Reading through the manufacturer specifications it says "Side Clearance - 12." Is this side clearance of 12" applicable to the exhaust side of the heater and its distance to combustible materials? Thank you.
