Q: This is my third Hayward pool heater and they suck this current one broke internally a part 0103230201 clogged my return line and now warm water is not very warm. Not real happy with this junk

Q: What is the steady state amperage (current draw) of this unit? What is the surge current at start?

Hi, the UHS heaters draw ~3 amps at 240 volts and 5.5 at 120 volts.

Q: Mine is natural gas though do you use cpv pipe to connect inlet and outlet?

Hi, you can use schedule 40 pvc for connecting the water lines to our gas heaters. Gas heaters should only be installed by qualified installers.
