Hayward

SKU: SAS-ABG-TL

Salt & Swim is an automatic chlorine generation system for Above Ground pool water quality.

Features

Salt & Swim is an automatic chlorine generation system for Above Ground pool water quality. This revolutionary system requires only a low concentration of salt (sodium chloride) to be present in the pool water, compared to other systems. Your pool then automatically converts that salt into free chlorine which kills bacteria and algae in the water. Once complete, any remaining chlorine will revert back to sodium chloride which allows the cycle to repeat and virtually eliminates the need to add additional chemicals to your pool.

Features and Benefits

  • Can handle most residential swimming pools up to 23,000 gallons (87,000 liters)
  • Uses a replaceable electrolytic cell designed to produce 155 lbs of 100% available chlorine over its lifetime
  • SAS-ABG model offers a standard blade type 120V linecord for power and PVC adapters for return jet mounting
  • SAS-ABG-TL model offers a twist lock type 120V linecord for power and PVC adapters for return jet mounting

NOTE: Actual amount of chlorination required varies due to bather load, rainfall, temperature, and the pool's cleanliness.

Q: Can I mount this close to the outlet of my sand filter? Manufacturer installation instructions show it just before the outlet of my return but I'd prefer to keep the weight (plus I can support it better) closer to my sand filter.

A:
Yes, it can.

Q: I have a Hayward salt cell system and very happy with it. While swimming I sometimes get small amounts of water in my mouth and can faintly taste salt. I thought that this was normal. Someone told me that there should not be any taste of salt. My salt level is where it should be for the size of my pool. Please advise. Thanks

A:
The concentration of salt in the pool water should be approximately 1/10 of the level in the ocean and is below the level of taste for most people. Hayward salt chlorine generation systems require salt levels between 2700 and 3400 ppm. Please ensure...
