Q: I have a 5500 Gallon oval above ground pool. I currently have a EC40 filter with a Hayward 1.5HP pump. Is it true I should not have a 1.5HP pump with an EC40? If I change to an EC50 would that be a filter size for my 5500 gallon pool or it’s too large?

Q: How do I know what year the ec50 filter was made

A:

In the serial number the 5th through 8th digits (starting on the left will tell you the year and month it was made. Example: 21122407 would be a filter made in July of 2024

Q: When we run the pump at first strong then loses water in pump. Can we backwash filter or is there another way to maintain presser. We are using system to heavy filter to remove winter debris. We emptied basket frequently.

Q: I have a filter base from a 20 year old Re-GenX filter, which the motor side (with intake basket), is still in good shape, as the motor was replaced. The base where the old filter tower sat has a circular ridge 12 inches wide which the old tower sat in. Will the EC50, or EC40, fit on this base? Also, which new filter tower would you recommend to replace the old Re-GenX...the 40 or the 50? I have a 10,000 gallon , 20 ft round above ground pool. Thanks!
