Q: Can you please inform me if the OMNIHUB can control this for both heating and cooling functions. The HUB only has 1 LV connection on the board and I was told that there should’ve been an HUA connection on the heater but there isn’t.

A:
Hi, the OmniHub cannot control this heat pump in both heat and cool. It requires a low voltage relay for each function.

Q: I have a spa that is about 13,500 gallons. The contractor installed the Hayward Heat Pro model # HP31405T. He told me that if the outside temperature is 50 degrees or below that it will go into defrost mode and will not heat the water. We want to use the spa during the winter in NW Florida and it will frequently drop below 50 in the evenings. Is this true, and if so is there anyway to override this....we want to use our beautiful new spool/spa during cool nights and days!!!

A:
Hi, the heat pump will go into defrost mode when it needs to, but it will not stay in defrost mode. It is designed to "defrost" the coil surrounding the unit, and then it will go back into heating mode. That being said, heat pumps are not designed...
