Q: I have a CL200 inline that is not working too well. I would like to clean it so it does a better job. I have searched your wed site and can not find a recommended way to clean the CL200. What is the Hayward to clean the chlorinator?

Q: I just had a CL220 offline chlorinator blow up on me. Everything's fine, but it was quite the experience. I was trying to get the cover off and it wasn't turning. I have a wrench that fits the top and even with the unit anchored firmly it wouldn't spin open. There was no pressure in the system, the pool had been closed for a few weeks. BANG! Sounded like a muffled gunshot. My best guess is it happened because I left some partially disolved tablets in the unit when I drained the pool, and they ended up clogging the in/out ports. That allowed the gas from the chlorine tablets to build up and wait for me. Does my theory sound correct? Everything is ok, nobody got hurt. I'm just trying to figure out what happened so I can avoid this in the future.
