Q: i have an aquanaut 400. I have 2 but one has the rear wheels not engaged with the grey spline gear; so not moving; all seems ok , not worn and not misaligneded. The good unit has the rear wheels turning by the inside wheel gears; where the faulty one has the grey spline gear in the center of the gears; not touching either. . Changing the grey spline shaft will not do anything as its normal, nor worn. Must be alignment but. all seems to be straight , in order. Allot of slop in the design to begin with for fitting any gears, splines.

Q: I have a 4-wheel version of your pool vacuum and have been very happy with it - until now. It is 3 years old and began to show signs of wear and was not able to maintain traction. I purchased the lower gear "kit" because some of the gears were worn (not missing) and I replaced the tires, which were beyond the wear marks. All the gears, the turbine, the tires have been replaced. However, when I put it in the pool I found that the wheels/tires turn quite nicely but the vacuum was not getting enough traction to move about the pool. I took all floats off the line except two that I kept at about 24 inches from the vacuum, per the manual's. There were two other floats that were also underwater that I removed, thinking they were "lifting" the unit sufficiently to cause slippage of the tires. No improvement. I increased and decreased suction using my VacMate lever, no change. I am at a loss. Can you help?
